Английская грамматика с точки зрения русского человека хитра и коварна. Вот, казалось бы, настоящее время глаголов – простая тема, но кто бы мог предположить, что в английском языке насчитывается четыре варианта настоящего времени! И чтобы их понять, надо каждое разобрать отдельно, а потом сравнить друг с другом. Этим и займемся сегодня, выполняя на Present Simple и Present Continuous упражнения разного уровня. Почему только 2 аспекта берем, а не сразу 4? Чтобы не было лишней путаницы и спешки. Изучение языка – дело серьезное и суеты не любит. Поэтому сегодняшний материал посвящен исключительно заданиям на эти два аспекта. Но чтобы их выполнить для начала немного вспомним теорию.

Итак, у нас есть два способа обозначить настоящее время действий в английском языке – Simple и Continuous. Как их различать, и когда какой способ использовать? Давайте разбираться.
Правило гласит, что привычные действия, совершаемые регулярно, часто или периодически, в английском языке передаются с помощью аспекта Present Simple. Выглядит это следующим образом.
- I play football every Friday. — Я играю в футбол каждую пятницу.
- We usually go to the cinema at weekends. — Мы обычно ходим в кинотеатр по выходным.
Как видно, такие действия повторяются с определенной периодичностью, поэтому они и вошли нам в привычку.
Другое дело, когда на английском надо рассказать о том, что происходит прямо сейчас, в этот момент времени. Для таких предложений уже используется аспект Present Continuous. Сравните примеры.
- I am playing football now. — Сейчас я играю в футбол.
- At this moment we are going to the cinema. — В данный момент мы идем в кинотеатр.
Иными словами, мы говорим не о повседневных вещах, а о том, чем заняты конкретно сейчас. Представьте, как будто вы позвонили другу, и спрашиваете, что он делает. Вот он и отвечает «я играю» или «я иду в кино». Именно в этом нюансе кроется разница между Present Simple и Present Continuous, и упражнения помогут нам отработать навык использования данных аспектов в соответствующих ситуациях. Но сперва еще немного вспомним грамматику.
Для того, чтобы построить высказывание времени Презент Симпл, нам достаточно просто взять инфинитив глагола без частицы to.
- I write novels – Я пишу романы.
Но нельзя забывать, что подлежащее в третьем лице (он/она/оно) всегда требует для глагола в Present Simple окончание –s.
- My sister writes novels – Моя сестра пишет романы.
А вот формула для Презент Континиус включает в себя две составляющих: глагол to be, изменяемый по лицам, и смысловой глагол с неизменным окончанием –ing. Получаются такие примеры.
- I am writing a new novel now. — Я сейчас пишу новый роман.
- He is cooking dinner. — Он готовит обед.
- We are watching a new film with Sylvester Stallone. — Мы смотрим новый фильм с Сильвестром Сталлоне.
Примечательно, чтоб Present Continuous образует вопросы и отрицания сам: в первом случае to be перемещается в начало предложения, а во втором порядок слов стандартный, только to be присоединяет частицу not.
- Are you watching a new film with Sylvester Stallone? — Вы смотрите новый фильм с Сильвестром Сталлоне?
- We aren’t watching a new film with Sylvester Stallone. — Мы не смотрим новый фильм с Сильвестром Сталлоне.
Немного сложнее ситуация в случае вопроса или отрицания для Present Simple. Эти функции осуществляет вспомогательный глагол do, и надо запомнить, что с подлежащим в 3 лице он всегда превращается в does, из-за чего основной глагол теряет свое окончание –s. Внимательно ознакомьтесь с предложениями в таблице.

Do you write novels? — Ты пишешь романы? I don’t write novels. — Я не пишу романы. |
He writes novels. — Он пишет романы.
Does he write novels? — Он пишет романы? He doesn’t write novels. — Он не пишет романы. |
Теперь, когда мы вспомнили все нюансы, можно смело выполнять на выбор «Present Simple или Present Continuous» упражнения. Ведь теория хороша для общего понимания, но вот выработать навык поможет лишь усердная практика. Ей и займемся.

Завершает практику упражнение на Present Simple и Present Continuous повышенного уровня. Предупреждаем, что для его выполнения нужно досконально знать теорию по этим аспектам, включая такие нюансы, как использование статических английских глаголов (state verbs) или выражение недовольства чужими привычками. Кроме того, необходимо обладать достаточным лексическим запасом, поскольку задание направлено не только на проверку грамматики, но и на перевод высказываний.
Однако, не стоит пугаться сложности проверки: если теория была грамотно разобрана и достаточно проработана, то это упражнение на Present Simple/Continuous легко выполнит даже школьник, оканчивающий 6 класс, 7 класс или 8 класс (зависит от методики преподавания английского языка в школе). Так что в любом случае, попробовать свои силы стоит. Даже если правильно перевести все предложения не получится, благодаря ответам с пояснениями вы поймете, какие пробелы в знаниях следует устранить и к какому результату стремиться. Но достаточно слов, давайте продолжать работу.
Выполните перевод приведенных предложений на английский язык. Обращайте особое внимание на предполагаемый контекст ситуации и тип английского глагола.
